Hi. Grid Node isn't working as it's suppossed to when creating the pattern in the Exploring Nodes tutorial.

  1. Hello.

I'm using Nodebox 3.0.32. First I tried this in Windows and then in Ubuntu. I began the Exploring Nodes Tutorial (http://nodebox.net/node/documentation/tutorial/exploring.html), and I was't able to get the pattern to form properly, at least not following the instructions as they are provided.

I'll explain better. In the second part of the tutorial, you create sort of a colored snowflake, And, it is supposed to repeat itself horizontally 10 times after adding a Grid and a Translate Node, am I correct? It doesn't repeat the original shape, but instead after adding the Translate node and connecting the Grid to it, it splits the snowflake into several pieces and each one takes a place in the points of the grid. I also double checked I'm doing everything as the tutorial says.

I instead used two Copy Nodes to replicate the pattern horizontally an then vertically.

I think it is a bug. Or is that normal coduct on part of the program and the tutorial is outdated?

    Thanks.

  2. Hello,
maybe you should Group the paths of the snowflake before translating it. This way you are sure you are translating the complete geometry and prevent NodeBox from doing list matching i.e. I have a list of paths and a list of points and will try to match these.

    Best,

  3. Thanks.

I'm still learning. I thought that behavior was a bug. Thanks for the idea.

  4. Using two copy nodes instead of grid nodes is perfectly fine. There is no one solution to fit them all.
