I've got nodebox 3 running on a Red Hat Linux 6 box. How do I run it normally, once it's been built. I take it I don't want to use the ant run command all the time?
I see it in a build directory, but there doesn't seem to be any kind or executable.
Thanks
Nick

We don't have an executable for Linux yet, so yes, you will need to use ant run for the time being.

Thanks Frederik, and apologies for the terrible typos.
Once the software is built, is there any way to run it through ant without it having to download dependencies every time? Again sorry if this is a basic question.
I work for a London VFX house and we install our Linux software centrally for all users (who don't have internet access). I was hoping I could have done the same for nodebox so a few of our guys could evaluate it.
Thanks
Nick

Hey Nick,
I realize this is an important issue for the possible adoption of NodeBox
on Linux. I'm currently on holiday but I can take a look at it when I get
back (in 2 weeks).
I've added the issue to GitHub so you can track its progress:
Thanks very much for this, we'll keep an eye on it.
Cheers
Nick

Hello.
I'm a long-time (but alas sadly not very proficient) NodeBox user and I am presently in the process of migrating from Mac to Linux systems.
I already have NodeBox3 running on my Ubuntu 14.04 system (via the awkward 'ant run' command from the command-line). I tried to create a custom launcher that encapsulated the command but all I achieved was making Unity crash and burn in a tight loop.
I was wondering if there's any progress being made on this front. Surely with all the talented proficient people out there somebody has found a way of making it run elegantly?
Look forward to good news (and thank-you for the excellent free work, of course).

At the moment it seems like the best choice is to integrate the Maven Unix plugin. Since I will be switching to using Linux full-time myself as well, I have an interest in getting this right :-)

So my operative strategy is to sit tight and not mess with anything that might cause permanent damage?
I think I can do that... ;)
Thanks for the reply and good luck with your migration. It's a wonderful platform but the transition can be unnerving.
Know something that helps?
