Hi there,
Ive been looking at past users sketches and I notice that there are using a "Place" node? Im running NodeBox 3 and cant seem to find it in library of nodes. Any thoughts or help?

NodeBox 3From the old forum
Hi there,

Hi,
The place node is a relic from NodeBox 2. It was used to place shapes on a template. For example, to place some rectangles on a grid.
NodeBox 3 is much more flexible and doesn't require this approach anymore. Any node that has a position port (for example a rect, or textpath, or ellipse, or ...) can be connected to something that creates points, for example a grid, or a resample node.
So whereas in NodeBox 2 you would connect a rect and grid node to the place node, in NodeBox 3 you connect the output of the grid directly to the position port of the rect node. This "feeds" the list of points to the rectangle, and creates a new rectangle for each position in the grid. See the screenshot for an example.
The second example uses the same principle: we create a textpath, use a resample node to generate more points on the path, and then feed those points into the position port of the star node. Again, same principle, just using different nodes.
Hopefully this clears things up. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
