data visu :: with connecting lines ?

  1. As a new user of Node Box (v3) I am quite impressed by its GUI. Thank's for developing + providing it !!
I experienced Processing before, indeed Node Box appears more intuitive to me as a non-programer but graphic designer only.

Meanwhile I walked through almost each of the tutorial docs. Now I wonder if one could help me with an example of data visualisation which shows the data (text, values) AND additionally connecting lines between those cells which are related to each other.

    Any hint is appreciated.
    Thank you, Thomas, (Cologne)

The Metallica example you mentioned is a built-in example. Look under File > Open Examples > Topics > Data Visualisation > Zipmap.

The trick is the zipmap node, which is quite tricky. What you do is calculate a list of coordinates and a list of data, and combine ("zip") them together in a map (also called dictionary). Then, you can look up the position of the line in the dictionary.

Just play around with the Metallica example to see if this makes sense. Otherwise, just ask :-)

  3. Ah, very good! Thank you!
(hm, I had not realized that "Topic" is clickable and stores more content ;)
