node functionality

I was wondering if there were plans for usability for nodes such as muting/disabling a node and being able to connect a node between other existing connections without manually reconnecting— unless this is a way of doing this I didn't notice ?

  2. some other things I'd like to suggest:

left+right arrow keys to traverse keyframes
home key to go back to start

Muting is a really good idea. I saw the functionality in Houdini years ago, where it is named "bypass".

However, it would only be possible with nodes that take the same input type and output type, for example the "transform" node.

Other nodes that "convert" between types (e.g. the scatter node) would be difficult to bypass, since the node takes a shape and the nodes below expect points.

Also, reconnect would be awesome, I agree.

thankyou for getting back to me.

For inserting a node, perhaps as you're already using at the [alt] modifier that could be a good method of sliding a node between two others, but of course detecting what the appropriate connection should be.

Another idea would be to allow creation of a new node that is already connected to the parent node and if possible connected to the following node.

Perhaps page up/down or , . / to play are good alternatives for keyframe traversing ?

Muting nodes, I understand the complications, but would be a very useful way of previewing before/after. Maybe if muting is not possible on generator nodes, it provides data that is visibly or effectively 'nothing' - does that make sense ?

  5. another suggestion: ability to move nodes to approximately half of the grid they are snapped to. Currently when keeping nodes together for tidiness it is difficult to see what their connections are, so with a slightly finer grid it should make this easier ?

Can you show what you mean exactly using a screenshot?
